QFC: Quality Factory Crimp  The Ultimate in Cordset Reliability

Conventional Terminations Are Good,
But Are They Right For Your Critical Application?
Here Are Some Things To Think About:

There's Human Variability
Even very good assemblers can, over time, produce inconsistent or inadequate terminations that can eventually cause heat build-up.

Plus, many shops don't use the expensive controlled-torque drivers required to properly torque each device.

Do You Assemble Once...
Then Do It Again?
Most manual terminations experience some stress-relieving almost immediately after assembly.

Some device manufacturers recommend that you assemble one day and retighten the next day!...Is this practical for your assemblers?

Do You Feel For Heat?
Some device manufacturers recommend end-users "feel for heat" over time; if a device is hot, they recommend disassembling and reassembling to retighten the terminations...more work, more worry!

Are Your Vendors Lead-Tinning?...Or Using Ferrules?
Some vendors lead-tin to ease wire insertion and speed assembly. But terminal clamps cannot fully compress tinned wires, so there's decreased conductivity and an increased likelihood of eventual overheating.

Using ferrules to compress wires also produces less than optimum conductivity.

Have You Had Product Failure?
Inadequate terminations can allow conductors to become loose, even after tightening to spec.

As an electrical device stress-relieves, and is subject to vibration or shocks, terminals can loosen, producing heat that leads to thermal runaway.

Marinco QFC Terminations:
The Ultimate In Conductivity, Strength and Reliability...    For The Following Reasons:

A Unified Mass of Wires
Marinco's Quality Factory Crimp (QFC) process forms the conductor wires and terminal barrel into a unified mass of metal.

The result is a termination with maximum conductivity and tensile strength, for the ultimate in long-term reliability.

Total Conductor Containment
Total strand (conductor) containment, under the factory-controlled QFC process, produces extremely stable mechanical strength and superior electrical performance.

Regular Testing Of The QFC Process
Sample terminations undergo a 350-pound pull test to confirm the mechanical integrity of the QFC crimping process.

In addition, a High Potential Difference ("High Pot") Test is done on 100% of the cordsets to confirm the dielectric properties of the cables' insulation.

QFC Terminations Run Cooler
Laboratory tests prove that QFC terminations run significantly cooler than the conventional (clamp style) terminations of a leading competitor.
The differences in temperature were even greater when the devices were repeatedly subjected to short cycles at 150% of their amperage ratings.

End-User Peace Of Mind
"In five years of critical, cleanroom installations, we haven't had one single Marinco Quality Factory Crimp termination fail," says Josef Foldi, MSEE consultant to Silicon Valley semiconductor manufacturers.

"That means a lot when any failure can cause hundreds of thousands of dollars of cleanroom damage or downtime."

International Acceptance
The QFC process is the preferred termination technique for many Japanese and European OEMs of critical electrical equipment, such as semiconductor-manufacturing machines, supercomputers, equipment for cleanrooms, etc.
Marinco cordsets are U.L. Listed under File E54506...
...and CSA certified under LR95531.
Marinco has been approved by SEMKO and TÜV for specific applications. Contact factory for details.
